Visit Scotland Expo 2014
Glasgow, Perthshire Highlands, Stirling, the Trossachs & Edinburgh
April 2, 2014 – April 6th, 2014

Our arrival day was April 1st and from the airport in Glasgow it was a short cab ride to our hotel, the beautiful Crown Plaza Glasgow. It is situated right next to the convention center so was easy to walk back and forth. It is a great convention hotel and really set up nicely for that purpose. Out the front door, you can walk along the River Clyde as there is a great pathway for walkers. At 5:30 we were all picked up to head to the VisitScotland expo Welcome Reception held at the Winter Garden at the People’s Palace. The People’s Palace, set in historic Glasgow Green, tells the story of the people and city of Glasgow from 1750 to the end of the 20th century. In the adjacent Winter Gardens you can wander among the exotic palms and plants or enjoy a coffee or lunch at the café. Outside, you can admire the restored Doulton Fountain (the largest terra cotta fountain in the world) and relax in the attractive surroundings of Glasgow Green, the oldest public space in Glasgow.
