Mazatlan
February 2005
February is the month we look
forward to each year.it is our chance to get away together for a month of
rest and relaxation in warm weather. We pack up our four suitcases (one
being books and computer accessories) and head to our timeshare in Mazatlan.
Over the years the hotel has been getting upgraded and last year they got
the internet in. What a treat. We didn't have to lug the laptop downtown to
check on our email each day. This year was even better as we arranged to get
the internet into our room, so with that and our VOIP line we could type and
call to our hearts content. Tom was connected and a happy camper. When you
both work with the internet it is important to stay in touch. We use the
time to work, but it certainly is a different kind of work when you can take
a break and walk the beach just outside our door. Our table faces the ocean
and you can hear it in the background - as some of our friends could when
they were speaking with us on the phone.
The first pictures you see are of Marina del rey, where our timeshare is.
You can see just how close we are to the beach. One of the evenings we went
to a restaurant called the Sheik. We like to try different places to see
what they are like and decide if we would go back again. This was a once
only restaurant. The view was beautiful as you can see, but then we have
that and more. The food was not that great though. Tom at least enjoyed his
beer. Funny thing about beer, this is the only place we ever seem to drink
beer. One of the others that we tried as well was called Los Arcos and if
you get the chance to eat there - do it! Fantastic food, service and music.
A third one was called Angelo's and this is where we went for our Valentines
Day dinner. We had Caesar salad for two prepared at the table, chateaubriand
for two and crepes suzette for two. This was done at the table as well.
Excellent meal and very well priced.
Caught sight one morning of one of the motor home cavalcades leaving.
Mazatlan has so many Canadians and Americans staying for the winter months.
The weather is really quite wonderful with night time temperatures perfect
for sleeping and daytime perfect for enjoying.
