GWA Indiana 2011
Aug 25th - Aug 29th, 2011

Staying at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites. Review done for as well.

I am listing the full day by day as from our program guide so you can see just how much information, learning and growing opportunities and networking is available at these symposiums. They really are valuable to attend. If you are interested in becoming a member, please send me an email at I have also included my own notes as shown.

I also want to make mention of the bags that we received. It is made out of salvaged material from the demolition of the Hoosier Dome, which stood for 24 seasons as the home of the Indianapolis Colts. The dome was replaced in 2008 by the 720 million dollar Lucas Oil Stadium, which is by the way where the 2012 Super Bowl will be held. The old dome was imploded in 2008 to make way for the expansion of the Indiana Convention Center. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc. salvaged about 225 tons of the dome material with the intent of repurposing, recycling and reusing the Teflon coated fiberglass. During one of their local organizing committee meetings for our symposium, Ginny Roberts suggested making the conference bags out of the material. The material is so tough that they could not embroider anything on them so special patches were made by the sponsors Encore Azalea and Southern Living Plant Collection and they were sewn on along with a pocket and straps. The local committee took the material, scrubbed it all and a local company JP Fine Man. made the bags. This was the very first time the Hoosier Dome Material has been used for this purpose. We thank you for all the hard work by everyone in preparing these bags and we are honoured to have one now as a memento of this trip and of a bit of Indy history.
