I live in the Niagara region, in Ontario. This may sound like a strange request, but does anyone have any suggestions on preventing an apricot tree from blooming. We will be away when our tree usually bears fruit and don't really want to return to the job off cleaning up rotten fruit.

Nancy, Why don't you find someone (who absolutely loves apricots like me)to take care of your tree and use the fruit to make apricot jam etc. in exchange for cleanup? There must be 1 person in all of Niagra willing to take the fruit in exchange for some caretaking. A little social networking with friends and friends of friends or an ad in the paper or your local nursery may also find such a person. It would be such a shame to have them go to waste. If I lived near you I would do it. Please consider these options.
