We'll be moving to The Sierras condo building (3rd floor, facing south, with 2 balconies, both 8x10 feet; walled on both sides and covered across top by 4th floor. I'm a avid gardener but have not lived in a condo before & coming from Edmonton will need ideas for hardy gardening ideas. Would like to correspond with like-minded people in Lethbridge so I can understand the climate and micro-climate before I start planning my potted paradise!

Hi Christine, I would suggest getting in touch with Art Drysdale and asking about his book on balcony gardening. He is on the Live Chat on this website each Sunday at 1 pm ET.

The Lethbridge & District Horticultural Society has monthly meetings at the Lethbridge Public Library starting @ 7 p.m. with the speaker at 7:30 p.m. You might be interested in the March 31 meeting as Erich Dyck from Country Bloom Garden Centre will give a presentation on hanging baskets. The public is invited-you do not have to be a member to attend our meetings. BJ (Newsletter Editor)
