I have a spruce tree in my front and back yard that grass will not grow under. I am debating puting raised flower beds under the trees to see if I can get something. to grow there. I have heard that if you put a raised bed right up against the tree trunk you will kill the tree...is this true? I also need some help to figure what will grow under a spruce tree. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
