Subject: Would these trees work in pots on my deck?

Hiya- I really want to plant some trees and shrubs in pots and put them on my deck.

I was hoping to plant a Russian Olive, and a Cottoneaster. Would they survive a 5b winter? And how would I stop the roots getting too big for the pot, in the cast of the Russian Olive?

Cheers for any help!

Jake

I don't really think a russian olive would work in a pot as it can get to be a fairly large tree. The cottoneaster may if your container is large. You can trim the roots and replant when necessary.
