Hi, I have a weekend house and I would like to save energy during the winter (and money!) by turning the furnace down during the week when I'm not there. I have lots of plants, typical houseplants like peace lily, defenbachia, jade plant, etc. as well as a few phaleonopsis orchids. How low can I set the temperature in the house without killing my plants?

When I go away, I usually leave the temperature on at 12 degrees C. Nothing has ever happened to my plants, including the phaleonopsis orchids. I have not done this week after week, with the temperature rising, I presume, when you are there over the weekends. Still, I think that 12 C should be fine.
