Hello, Just wondering when I should cover potted mums overnight to protect from frost (too many pots to move into the garage). I know they can withstand a "Light Frost" but not sure when frost is considered "heavy". New at this so any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!!

Karen, the easiest way to preserve them for as long as possible is to throw an old bed sheet over them if it threatens to dip below 0*C or -1*C. (Tuck them in for the night ;-) Also, if you forget to, and see that there is a heavy frost on them in the morning, if you wash the frost off with the garden hose, before the sun hits it, they will pull through better. If in doubt, tuck 'em in, or pull your favorite few into the house to overwinter. Hope this helps. :-)
