I have a yellow fungus that started growing on the top of the soil of my fiscus any suggestions on what it is and how to get rid of it? Thanks!

Pam, this may be a silly question, but (depending on how long you've been working with plants) are you sure that it's a fungus?

The reason that I ask is that depending on your water, it may actually be a buildup of minerals/sodium. My house plants get this after a year or two, because our water is fairly soft. If this is what you have, and it's affecting the health of the plant, you may want to remove the surface soil, and replace it. It looks nasty, but I haven't had any problems yet with it affecting plant health. I have repotted most of my plants in the last year or so, so that could be part of why they aren't impacted though.

If it really is a fungus, then I'm not sure what you should do. I don't have any experience there. Sorry if this wasn't too helpful.

Good luck. Verena
