I have seen questions posted about asking for good places to go to buy plants, so I thought this might be a good topic to start a thread under..although maybe a little too late in the season..if someone has had a especially good experience with a particular nursery, others might like to know for their own shopping!! I would like to mention for those in the Okanogan area, Blue Mountain Nursery in Armstrong, they are the best I have come across, very friendly and helpful and have a great selection of plants that come in nice sizes with really great prices!! Some of their prices compared to other nurseries make me wonder how they can do it.Right now, unless you are looking for trees, mums or hostas there is not alot as everything has been sold but hit them in the spring/early summer and wow!!!Also I had stopped at trip to the coast in Richmond at Phoenix perennials and found them to have a huge variety of plants, and again very helpful. This is a good place to go to find that plant that is hard to find.

I will definitely try Blue Mountain next spring. I have driven by them several times - they're on Pleasant Valley right?

I also went to a new place in Vernon this year, The Flower Spot. They had quite a variety of things, that's where I found the Cuban oregano for example. Good prices too.

On Okanagan Landing Road, close to Produce Plus. This was their first year in operation & they have just closed for the season.

I like buying my plants at various places. At home, I like to go to Humbers in Brampton. They may be a little expensive but their plants are in good condition and nice and big. I prefer buying my trees and shrubs there. For perennials, I buy where i find good plants. At the farm I go to the farmers market in Creemore on Sat. mornings. Great plants. I buy daylilies from a place called Forget Me Knot gardens in Hampton and my orientals from Lilies in the Valler up near Huntsville. My hostas I get from Feversham at a nursery called Brookside Gardens. They had a tornado go through there a few years ago and lost the top off their greenhouse plus there is a new owner. He is planning to rebuild and expand. Marg
