Hi Betty, your lychnis calcedonica just remove the old stems, there will be new growth already sprouting from the base, that while you won't get a second bloom, it will be there for some winter protection, for your Shasta daisies, cut back the stems, some have buds coming on the sides for more flowers, if they don't then just cut back enough to leave a good 6", that way it helps trap the snow for winter coverage.
