Has anyone found a solution that is not too caustic, that rids Chinese lantern plants from the orange/black beetles that like to devour them? Would love to hear from you.

Nope, Chinese lantern attract beetles and the only way to get rid of the beetles is to get rid of the chinese lantern plants.
