I would like to know if I can separate and move an established hosta now (in spring)and also when is the best time to replant a bleeding heart and peony. thanks.

Move all these plants in the fall.. the only things that you move in the spring are the later season perennials.

I have divided and moved hostas in the spring and had no trouble at all

thanks ladies for your reply - I think I will try to move a bleeding heart and peony, somebody dumped them across the street and they need a home. Can't wait for fall. wish me luck.
