I have a garden full of tulips, now in their third year of blooming, which tend to grow along the ground and then up... their foliage is HUGE and they just look really wild and gangly. Should I be fertilizing with a specific mix? Are they lacking some kind of nutrient to help them grow straight up and strong? The blossoms are quite large, and they are just the regular tulip (ie, not parrot, etc).

I am having the same problem this yeat not only with tulips but also aliums. The aliums were straight up at 18 inches then just bent over and got pinched off. This has never happened before so am thinking it has something to do with the weather.
