I would like to move a 3 year old Blue Crown Passionflower to a new location in the garden - when is the best time to do this?

As Passion Flowers are not winter hardy in E Ont I am not able to answer your enquiry but would like to know how your 3-year old survives winter in zone 8. Is it cut back each fall or spring like most perennials or does it stay green all year round ?

For the first year I had the PF in a container. That winter we moved, so I transferred it to a smaller, more manageable container. It spent the winter in that, outside, then in the Spring I transferred it to the ground. It was cut back to the ground in the fall and covered with a layer of mulch.

The next Spring it came back beautifully. That being said, we did have a fairly mild Winter here (Powell River), so I'm hoping that it will be ok this year.
