I am looking for suggestions of a perennial I can plant. I live in zone 5a and the other year I made "heart" garden. At present I am planting annuals but I would like to go to an perennial. I am lookin for a bright colour prefer red that would have colour from mid june to frost. It can be a non-blooming leaf plant that is mainly ground cover (no more than 4-6 ins. Any suggestions out there????

Hi Roger, you seem to have a good idea of what you want, I can never make up my mind. Go to your local garden centre, and they will be able to help you. good luck, Carol

You could try some BeeBombs.. They grow up to about 30" high A hard perennial and spread quite nicely

Most perennials bloom for part of the year, not from mid-June to frost. Which perennial you choose depends on the conditions: sun, part-shade, type of soil, etc. So, many different things to consider. Agree with Carol - go to nursery, look at plants, decide what you like, ask questions.
