I would like to transplant my peonie trees. What time of the year would I do it, what should I be aware of when I do it. Thanks

Hello:

All I have heard is that you really shouldn't transplant tree peonies because they will not rebloom for a long time. Ordinary peonies should be transplanted in the fall only.

Peter the best time for you to transplant the tree peonies is as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. The problem we had with a transplant was it did not flower for 2 years after it's move. Also the tree Peonies have a very large root system and you should get as much of the roots as you possibly can.
