I have been trying & trying to grow sunflowers, and when they start to poke through the ground, chipmunks come along and eat them. Is there anything I can do to prevent the chipmunks eating them. If they only knew I was trying to grow some sunflower seeds for them. This is my second year for trying to grown them and no success.

You could try starting your seeds indoors in peat pots, then transplant them outdoors when the stalks toughen up and become hairy.

Good luck G

Tried that - they got snipped off anyway. Now what?

Hmmm... chickmunks (that's what my 3-year-old calls 'em)sure are cute but destructive in your case. My only other suggestion would be to park a large dog in your garden...sorry.....
