I am looking for an perennial or annual on the westside of my house about 3-5foot tall, bright colour. Can you help me to choose? Thanks already.

I am assuming that plants will be in shade of your house until the sun comes around to the west side and also that the plants are located outside the eavestrough line, so they get rained on. If so, here are my suggestions: monkshood, bugbane or cimicifuga, echinacea or purple coneflower, shasta daisy, day lily, goldenrod or solidago, plume poppy or macleaya, all rudbeckias or black-eyed susans (especially Goldstrums), thalictrum or meadow rue, valerian. These are tall, have bright flowers and like either sun or partial shade.

Good luck!
