Has anyone had any luck using tree trunk slices as stepping stones in a shade garden? I'm afraid they may rot and crumble after a year. Any suggestions for a cheap material for a shade garden path? Thanks!

i have used old tree trunks for steps on a slope and stepping stones for about 10 years and they have lasted very well. It probably depends on the type of wood used ..I used old maple trees.
