I am interested in the Stevia Plant to use as a sweetner. It is a sub tropical plant but the descriptors suggest that it can be grown in mild climates so i would like to try. Any leads? Thanks, Daisy

Daisy Have you tried Richters? They are one of the truely great herb nurseries right here in Canada. The web is They have seeds, plants, plugs (small plants) and even dried leaves and powder. They have a vast on-line catalouge and will ship almost anywhere (what they can) Check them out you won't be disapointed!

Good lead, Pata. I was just looking for stevia as well, and tracked down a seed source at the Vancouver Seedy saturday!

If you just wanted a small number of seeds, have them.

They mentioned that they have grown it there for many years, but kept it in a greenhouse over the winter. It may not overwinter outside, kinda like many bedding plants that we replace each year but could keep overwinter if we had the facilities.
