My tuberous begonias appear to have some form of mold disease (?). Silvery/grey powder collects on leaves but blooms/buds turn black around the edges. I used some internet advice and sprayed with a mixture of baking soda and water. It seemed to help but the problem has recurred. I'm desperate as I don't want to lose 8 begonias - they're our favorite flower.

Help - what can I do?

Begonias, along with some other plants, are suspectible to powdery mildew. It is usually caused by cool nights and high humidity. I have tried the baking soda and water, along with the milk mixture. Neither has worked for me. I, unfortunately, have had to restore to chemicals. I don't like to use chemicals and I think next year I'm going to look for alternative plants. I love begonias as well, but I don't like to the treatment.
