Subject: Joe-pye weed (eupatorium)

I want to add this to add to other butterfly plants and was curious about what colors they are. Saw some at Niagara Butterfly Conservatory several years ago but forget what they look like. I think they have a large habit but the butterflies seemed to love them. My garden books don't give them more than a paragraph.

For more inforamtion try running a phrase search for "Joe Pye weed", I checked a few websites and most have good photos of the plant. I have Joe Pye weed growing wild on my property and it is a pinkish-mauve coloured flower that reaches about 5-6 feet. I bleieve there are some varieties that come in white, there may be other colours too

I love Joe Pye weed, and think it should be planted more! Given good soil, it is dramatic (6' high) with purple flowers that attract many butterflies and hummingbirds. It doesn't seem "weedy" to me at all, although I have read that some people consider the leaves to be coarse.
