Subject: Let's Praise Great Suppliers!

I am sure all of you know of a supplier who has gone the extra mile...I am going to start this off by telling you about one of them.

I had a lady email me wanting to know of a bonsai supplier in my area that could deliver a bonsai to her family here in the Edmonton area. I got in touch with a supplier who I knew had the best, and the two of them got together to order and have it is what Lesley got back as a response from her family...

Dear Lesley,

Thank you so much for the absolutely lovely Christmas gift. This morning a jolly, slightly heavy-set man with snow-white beard (literally) arrived at our door with a large cardboard box and explained he had a special gift for us. He then came inside and opened the box for us. In it there was a beautiful bonsai tree with a handwritten note wedged between its delicate branches which read: "To Dad (Grandpa & Grandma) from Lesley and the Girls. Merry Christmas." The man spent about twenty minutes here explaining in incredible detail how to care for the tree. It seems, when you become the owner of a bonsai tree, there are many responsibilities. It's kind of like acquiring a pet. The man said he wanted to be sure the tree was going to a good family since he has been raising it for eight years. He went on to explain that should there be any problems, what-so-ever, he'd appreciate it if we would give him a call and he would guide us through the shoals of ownership. Anyhow, it's a great gift, girls, and we shall do our best to be responsible parents. The tree is a Dwarf Japanese Juniper. It stands in its ceramic planter about 12 inches tall and sprawls out about 12 inches. It's beautifully shaped, just like those full grown trees one sees in Japan.

Anyhow, thanks for being so thoughtful. Have a wonderful Christmas and the happiest of New Years.

Much love, Grandpa and Grandma.

....this is special...and I am sure you have had this happen to you as well..share it with us. This supplier who went out of his way was Vriend's Landscaping and Nursery in Edmonton, Alberta.
