Can anyone recommend a good book or internet site on house plants? One with good pictures! I just inherited about 10 plants and I have NO idea what they are except a hibiscus and a palm. Thanks!

You might be interested in Art Drysdale's article about books on houseplants. Go to:

If you don't know the names of the plants, your best bet is probably to flip though some books first to narrow down the possibilities and then search the Internet for more information on those specific plants if you need more information than the books provide. It is much easier to look for pictures in a book than flipping through web pages I think....

The most thorough houseplant book on the market (in my opinon) is Reader's Digest Success With Houseplants. It's my bible.

The best book I know of on houseplants is 'The House Plant Expert' by Dr. D. G. Hessayon. It was the text for a class I took and has excellent pics and lots of info.

Thanks for the info. I actually found both the Readers Digest book and the House Plant Expert at our library and am busy scanning pages into my computer!
