Subject: Carpenter Ants
From: becky

We have big black ants in the backyard. Someone said they may be carpenter ants. Does anyone have any information how to get rid of them? I was also told that ant posion and ant traps do not work well.

Thanks

These are large black ants often seen here in Alta in wooded areas in moist, rotting, decaying wood such as a firewood pile or dead trees. They can do mega damage. Get rid of moist, decaying wood.
