I was in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago and was amazed by all the flowers and trees growing lushfully. The trees and hedges were so tall! Out of curiosity what hedges are these --> the leaves are dark green, kind of shiny and oval shaped - it looked like Mandevilla leaves; and the hedges were pruned.

It could be various laurels such as reyvanni, portugal or plain old English. Did it happen to have a black berry?Might also be summer snowflake Viburnum.
