Where in the Ottawa area can I buy preying mantis and lady bugs for the garden? I have called several major nurseries with no luck.

Try the Loblaws store at South Keys. I saw a preying mantis "cocoon"? at the cashier's counter at their garden centre last week. Last year they also had lady bugs but I think you had to wait until a certain time of the season for them to be available.

Thanks Kathy and Julie!! I actually found some at the Make it Green garden centre on Eagleson Road. Apparently in the next couple of weeks they will be getting in many unusual perennials.
