Proven Winners® ( www.provenwinners.com ) has two new plant introductions for spring that they are especially excited about. Each can give you the opportunity for something different in your garden this coming season!

The first one we want to tell you about is a plant that should be on everyone’s list—Snow Princess™, a unique breakthrough in the genus for heat tolerance and extended season performance. This sterile Lobularia is extremely vigorous, and because it puts no energy into setting seed it has an incredibly long bloom time. In fact, in trials in Florida, Snow Princess™ displayed mounds of fragrant, white blooms from January through July. The plant creates a great hanging basket or window box and is a perfect filler in combinations.

Snow Princess™ will reach a height of 4—6”, and will trail over the side of a container as much as 60”. It will take full or partial sun, and is wonderful in hanging baskets, containers or in window boxes. It is the winner of two industry awards:

Winner of IPM Essen (Germany) Best Innovation Award, 2009.

Winner Gold Medal, Innovert Innovation Competition at the Salon du Vegetal, France 2009

Snow Princess™ will attract butterflies, offers fragrant blooms, is heat tolerant and does not require deadheading.

Supertunia® Pretty Much Picasso™ offers a unique combination of color—each flower sports violet purple blooms that are edged in a lively lime green. This vigorous plant is great for mixing in combination with other vigorous plants. It will reach a height of 8-12”, and can trail over the side of a container by as much as 36”. Supertunia® Pretty Much Picasso™ will perform well in full sun and can attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

Deadheading is not necessary and the plant is heat tolerant and drought tolerant in addition to being pet friendly.
