Larry Hodgson is a full-time free-lance garden writer and photographer and has been notably editor-in-chief of HousePlant Magazine, Fleurs, Plantes et Jardins, À Fleur de Pot and Houseplant Forum magazines, garden correspondent for Le Soleil de Québec and radio garden commentator for CBC Radio’s Quebec City station. He is a regular contributor to garden magazines in both the United States and Canada, including Canadian Gardening, Harrowsmith, Horticulture, Fine Gardening, Rebecca’s Garden, Organic Gardening, and Gardens West and his book credits include The Garden Lover’s Guide to Canada, Perennials for Every Purpose, Annuals for Every Purpose, and Houseplants for Dummies, as well as some 30 other titles in English and French. His latest English-language book, is Making the Most of Shade.
Larry can be frequently seen in Quebec on French-language television.
He's a former National Director of the Garden Writers Association and teaches horticulture to mature students at Laval University. He often leads garden tours to various spots around the world and has visited the gardens of over 30 countries so far. He resides just outside of Quebec City.
