Bowmanville Horticultural Society

A garden can be many things. A garden provides - from feeding the family to feeding the soul. Sometimes it's a temple, sometimes a gym; a feeder of birds, racoons, butterflies and all creatures seen & unseen. From the exuberance to the humus, the garden always brings us full circle. It makes us strong.

A society based on growing and sharing thus marries strength with friendship and generosity. It accomplishes deeds that an individual alone cannot. It is within that sharing process that we grow as human beings. "We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't." I'll not mind growing older, as long as its the "growing" that counts.

Some aims of our horticultural society...

To encourage interest and improvement in horticulture by: holding meetings for instruction & discussion; encouraging improvement of homes and public grounds by planting of trees, shrubs & flowers; interesting our youth in horticulture by holding contests and competitions; holding exhibitions and awarding premiums for the production of quality vegetables, landscape plants, flowers, fruits, trees, shrubs, and houseplants.

Time and place of meetings:

Trinity United Church Hall, third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm (except June - 2nd Wednesday.) Visitors and prospective members are always welcome.

Annual membership fee shall be payable on the anniversary date of joining.
