Further Confessions of a Reformed Compulsive Gardener
Another Splash of the Gin & Tonic Gardener chronicles the next two years in the gardening life of this knowledgeable but irreverent gardener as Wells grapples with creating a low budget gin-and-tonic garden in the old St. John's house she can barely afford to keep up. From her constant scouring of yard sales for perennials, to her aversion to grass and her ongoing battles with rocky soil and an ugly chain-link fence, it appears that Wells is far from cured of her compulsion to garden. She tries to convince herself and her readers otherwise, but even when she leaves her own garden, she can't resist poking around in other people's.

A firm believer that the best gardens don't sulk from a little neglect, Wells continues to balance humour and an affinity for the hammock and a good book with her quest for the old-fashioned cottage garden of her dreams. Full of wit and wisdom, tips and trials that transcend time and gardening zones, Janice Wells' garden books will make gardeners everywhere feel good for many years to come.

About the Author

Janice Wells' grown daughters were delighted when their mother finally decided what she wanted to be when she grew up and started writing. Her lifestyle columns for the Halifax Chronicle Herald, the St. John's Telegram and the Corner Brook Western Star have been delighting readers ever since. Her best-selling, first book, The Gin & Tonic Gardener received numerous accolades, and her second hilarious smash hit Definitely Not Martha Stewart: Domestic Tales of Starting Over is destined to become a classic for everyone who has ever started over, or even thought about it. She is a Newfoundlander currently living in St. John's where she is completing a biography of Newfoundland premier Frank Moores, while enjoying the scattered gin and tonic in her downtown garden, and her outport garden in Eastport.
