Birds of Alberta
John is known as the "nature nut" and if you have ever watched his programs on television, you will know why. He has this uncanny ability to make everything in this bug, butterfly and bird world make sense...these are excellent shows for kids - both big & small!

I never realized how many birds we had here in Alberta. There are more than 330 species grouped and colour coded in this book. Everything you would need to know about them - how to identify them, how big they are, habitat they prefer, where they nest, what they eat, an idea of the sound they make, other species similar in appearance and the best places to see them...a perfect book for me as a beginner. Plus there are also other interesting bits of information, like a breakdown of the parks and what you can expect to find in them, techniques of birdwatching and birdwatching activities. A very thorough book.
