The New England Wild Flower Society Guide to Growing and Propagating Wildflowers of the United States and Canada
by Bill Cullina
If you're interested in growing wildflowers and native plants, this is an essential reference text. It includes both descriptive information and photographs of several hundred native plants, including information on their natural environment, culture and use in the garden and specific and essential information on how to propagate them. It is, to me, one of the ironies of wildflower/native plant gardening that these plants include some of the most difficult plants to propagate from seed that I've encountered! This book is an invaluable refernce if you're planning to take on the challenge of growing some of the beautiful but difficult varieties. If you want to focus on plants that are easier to propagate, it can help you sort out which are which too!
