Las Vegas
November 28th – December 2nd, 2015

November 28, 2015

It was wheels up on COPA Airlines on the 28th when we left Panama to take a non stop flight to Las Vegas. We had a morning flight which was really nice to be able to see outside. Lunch was very nice, then a short nap and pretty soon we were over the Hoover Dam and winding our way into the airport in LV. A short cab ride to our hotel, the Mirage and into our room for the next four nights. The Deluxe rooms were quite large I have to admit…plenty of room for bags – Tom was doing a small trade show. A nice sitting area to sit and read the things to do while here, a large desk for the two laptops, t.v., iron, ironing board and bar fridge – although the bar fridge was useless as it was one of those that if you touch anything, it is yours. No where to keep water and you had to buy that. It costs nothing to provide water and yet hotels still do not do this. Bathroom was ok with good lighting. Not a great bathroom as you could not keep the door open to shower as it blocked the tub. The Mirage is a huge hotel and one of the older ones but I really liked the landscaping outside and inside with the waterfall and gardens it was quite lovely. We met friends who came here to LV to meet us and then visit with some other friends…we did quite a bit of walking this evening visiting the Venetian and then finding an Italian restaurant to have dinner. Then did some more walking around.
