I left for this tour on May 22nd and on my stop in Calgary, decided to
visit Oraoxygen. I tried their 15 minute oxygen session plus 15 minute
foot massage in preparation for my 8+ hour flight to London. Both
relaxed me and it was especially nice to get my feet massaged as I find
they swell a bit on the plane. They offer many services to travelers and
it was quite busy when I was there. Adelina is shown behind the counter
and you can find out more about their 'airport wellness spa' concept' at
their website
http://www.oraoxygen.net
I always try and get out and walk around and maintain my sleep pattern
as much as I can, and this time since the hotel was close to Holland
Park in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, decided to venture
over there and see that. All that remains of the house from the 1600's
is the east wing, orangery and the ice house. The gardens were very
pretty and you can imagine how impressive the house and grounds might
have been just by looking at what is there now.
Shown are the Japanese Garden, Italian rose garden, east wing, ice house
and some wonderful tiles that once was the fence surrounding the house.
The next two pictures are of a house that looks like a tower - I had to
ask the gardener because it looked like a church with its stained glass
windows.
He told me that Williams Sturges built this as a home in the 1800's, it
was gothic in style and the interior reflects that of the exterior. Now
I don't know if this is true, but he did let me see the wonderful little
private garden at the back. The next picture is of the front garden of
the house next door to this one. Colourful and a delight to view.
Our tour officially started May 23rd when we all met for dinner, then it
was to bed.
