Legends of the Seas
10 Day October 11th – 21st, 2015

October 19th - 21st

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was our last port of call and coming into port there were many dredgers clearing the water lanes…Tom saw them as he was running on the ship and soon afterwards we were slowly easing ourselves into our slot at the dock. We boarded the coach to head into the city, about 1 ˝ hours from here . Our ride in was one of magic as we drove past houses surrounded by ponds and ducks and lotus fields. Once into HCMC we were dropped off at the Rex Hotel where we would meet our guide for our tour a bit later on but in the meantime we walked around the area and took in the sights and made memories until we met her. The first thing we wanted to do was to have Vietnamese food. Tram took us to a restaurant that she goes to a lot…such good food. It was hard to leave but we had things to see and places to go. Taking a cab is the cheapest and easiest method, at least for us. We could have taken a scooter – about 4 million in the city – but we wanted to get there safely.

We saw a lot in our short time there and before you know it we were meeting our coach to head back to the ship.

That evening each deck of the ship was adorned with towel animals that all the attendants had done up for us to admire…the 20th was a day of cruising and we arrived back into Singapore on the morning of the 21st. You can see just how hazy it was due to the fires in Indonesia…once off the ship we took a cab to the airport where Wayne and Elaine had a room for the night as they were leaving the next morning. We were leaving 12:30 a.m. so spent time with them then heading to check in. The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is lovely and so was their room. I think I will stay here on my next tour. The pool area and gardens were lovely. The airport, Terminal 2 was loaded with plants too…great to walk around and visit each of the displays. Loved the Sunflower Garden…
