Chelsea Flower Show Tour 2015
May 19th - 28th, 2015
May 17 - 18, 2015
Just say the words ‘The Cotswolds’ and everyone knows what you
are speaking about. Made famous for hundreds of honey-colour
limestone villages in a beautiful rural setting, the fabulous
undulating countryside is instantly recognizable; it is
quintessential England at its best. Exquisite thatched roofs
each with their own signature of thatcher will be found yes, but
not as many as you would think as the Cotswolds roofs are
usually limestone too! Cloud hedges are to be seen as well. The
first time I had ever seen this style of hedge I fell in love
with it…like pillowy clouds in the sky. The Cotswolds is an area
in south central England containing the Cotswolds Hills, a range
of rolling hills which rise from the meadows of the upper Thames
to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn
Valley and Evesham Vale.
We will start our delightful holiday in London with five nights
at the beautiful 4 star luxury hotel in Kensington, the
Millennium Gloucester Hotel. Just a short block away from the
Gloucester Tube Station with Sainsburys, Tesco and Boots nearby
and a great currency exchange shop. Minutes away from Kensington
Gardens, Holland Park and shopping!
From London we transfer to our hotel, the Alveston Manor in
Stratford upon Avon for the next three nights. Macdonald
Alveston Manor Hotel is one of the finest 4 star hotels in
Warwickshire, offering great luxury accommodation in one of the
most beautiful and historic parts of England. Set in the very
heart of Shakespeare Country, and in close proximity to
beautiful Cotswold villages, the historic Alveston Manor Hotel
is set in its own private landscaped gardens just minutes from
all the cultural attractions of Stratford-upon-Avon.
We then end up back at London Heathrow Airport for our last
night at the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel for easy access to your
flights home the following morning.
May 17th was my day of arrival into London as I was going to
Press Day at Chelsea on the 18th. It is always such a treat to
be able to attend Press Day. From there I walked to Sloan Square
to take in Chelsea In Bloom displays that many of the businesses
do during Chelsea week.
