I live in Thunder Bay Ontario which is zone 4. I have enjoyed gardening for a number of years and now with my wife and daughter have also become gardeners. I maintain a 200 sq.ft. vegetable garden that consists of 4 raised beds that are intensively planted.

I get a jump on the gardening season by starting a variety of plants and vegetables in the basement and move them outside to the 6.6' X 8.6' greenhouse in early April. Most of the vegetable garden is planted mid May to Early June.

Over the summer month the greenhouse holds our house plants and cactus collection.

We maintain a small pond which that has a pebble beach and bog garden attached. The pond is home to about a dozen goldfish which consists of Orandas, Fantails and Shebunkins along with an assortment of lillies and other aquatic plants.

The pond is surrounded by a perennial garden with over one hundred different plant species that I am constantly moving or redesigning. The garden has a few micro climates which range from hot dry sun to cool fresh shade.
