Our last day was a visit to Yaminghsan National Park, a beautiful peaceful park that took my breath away – the moss was everywhere and I am very fond of moss in gardens. Camellias too … The mountain park serves as a refuge to 1230 plant species, 88 bird species, 150 mammal species, 16 amphibian and 30 retile species.

We also visited a hotel and spa to relax in the spa for a while. The Yang Ming Shal Tiel-Lai Spring Resort is truly a restful place to stay. A view of the mountains and the sea, it is breathtaking … So much so that I have it included in a tour I am putting together to Taiwan. The rooms we will have will be the Japanese rooms with the deep tubs so you can sit in the privacy of your own room and take in the hot spring waters.

Then it was lunch time and since we were a small group we took advantage of this and had lunch at a very local restaurant. It had been raining this day so the food and warmth was welcome…

Then it was off to the Sherwood Hotel for our last night … wow what a whirlwind trip that was but it has convinced me that there is a tour here … there is so much to see and the country is so beautiful. It is about the size of Vancouver Island with 70 percent mountainous … so perfect in every way…the food, the people, the scenery…just perfect.

Our dinner tonight was at the hotel, it was a seafood buffet and it was incredible!
