Flavours of Scotland
April 19th – 24th, 2016
English daisies greeted us in flower boxes outside the hotel
while we were loading up to leave towards Edinburgh … We drove
to South Queensferry were we got out to walk around and enjoy
seeing the Forth Bridges … and from there onto Prestonfield
House where we would be enjoying our last lunch together…and was
it ever a lovely lunch. This is one gorgeous hotel … a five star
with just 23 bedrooms and suites, and I was staying in a suite!
It was kind of weird saying goodbye to everyone in our little
group and staying behind but I could not wait to see what my
suite looked like. One room for the bedroom and the other as
sitting area…posh just doesn’t do it, it was over the top posh.
Sitting on the table was a whole bottle of champagne, just for
me, cookies, sweets, fruit, and sitting nearby wonderful
gardening books. I just did not want to go to sleep but instead
languish in this atmosphere for a while, but I knew I had to at
some point as I had an early flight out the next morning. The
hotel sits on 20 beautifully landscaped grounds with a golf
course peeking through on the other side. I had arranged a late
afternoon tea here as well and it did not disappoint ... they
put me in a room all by myself so I could enjoy just being in
the moment … totally an incredible experience being here.
There are so many people to thank who made VisitScotland Expo
and our fam afterwards such a pleasure and learning experience.
Every hotel we stayed in, the service was excellent and of
course the food was perfection…our drivers, coaches and guides
and every place we visited was a joy with such nice people
showing us around, telling us about their products and services
... ust making it so much easier to put tours together…and I
have so please visit
www.gardeningtours.com and see what I have planned for
2017. You will be amazed at just how beautiful Scotland is, from
its heart to its hands…it’s there for you to discover.
