Again this year we took in Carnaval. This is a huge event for the locals and they virtually party for 6 days. There is a lot taking place during Carnaval but the big deal is the parade. It starts about 5:30 and goes until it is about 9 p.m. Great music, floats, food and frolic. What we love about Maz is that the people are so friendly and family oriented. This year I bought masks and handed them to little girls that didn't have any.

Really quite neat to see the look on their faces when they are given something. We buy a new t shirt every year for Carnaval.

I took photos as we walked around the city - always something that catches my eye...the way they build, the beautiful woodwork or carving, plants...
