Day 11 June 22, 2007 (Friday) Penang - Langkawi

We had to check out this morning and take the ferry to Langkawi, which was a great experience…stayed at the Frangipani Langkawi Hotel which everyone loved. We each had our own cottage and some of them had outside showers which was a real tropical treat. The resort was beautifully landscaped and the sunsets were magical.

This afternoon we were treated to the Langkawi Cable Car ride up to the summit of Gunung Mat Cincang which offered a fantastic view, then a quick stop at the Oriental Village before back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

Day 12 June 23, 2007 (Saturday) Langkawi

This was our safari day, a day to see caves, lizards, mangroves, monkeys at Killim Karst Geo Forest Park. The boat ride itself was so peaceful. Then lunch at a fish farm and back to the resort for some down time. On the way we stopped at Laman Padi to see how rice is grown as well as saw trees that were producing the latex.

Day 13 June 24, 2007 (Sunday) Langkawi

Today we visited some gardens and did a bit of shopping (what else!) as we also stopped at a very unique Batik retail store called Atma Alam Art Village that pleased everyone. I know it did me as I bought a dress there.
We enjoyed another beautiful sunset dinner here.
