MALAYSIA MEGA FAMILIARISATION PROGRAMME
IN CONJUNCTION WITH MEGASALES CARNIVAL FAM
Kuala Lumpur – Cameron Highlands – Penang - Langkawi
JUNE 12 – 27, 2007
Day 3 June 14, 2007 (Thursday) Kuala
Lumpur
After breakfast, we took off for another great day, this time visiting
the KL Bird Park, KL Butterfly Park, the Orchid Park and Hibiscus Garden. We
also managed to see the Conservatory and Herbal Garden. The Hibiscus Garden
was visual overload as they were all in bloom, from the tiny to the plate
size. The national flower (Hibiscus rose-sinensis) is proudly displayed for
all to see and enjoy. There are over 5,000 plants in order of species and
variety here.
The Herb Garden was established in 1990 and provides information on the
conservation, education and closer study of herbs. There are wonderful
collections of bromeliads, cactus, fern, begonia and more for you to see.
The orchid park was established in 1986 and is about 1 hectare in size. Set
up to showcase the collections as well as to provide a center for
conservation and study, you will be amazed at the amount of orchids – over
10,000 are planted.
Day 4 June 15, 2007 (Friday) Kuala Lumpur
Today was our Shopping tour which included the Mid Valley Megamall and
Bangsar Village, because after all, we were here to help celebrate the
Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2007. We could not come and then not buy! Then
after lunch at Madam Kwans, which was great, we had some free time until me
met the rest of the invitees for the official presentation by Visit Malaysia
Year Secretariat and Malaysia Airlines. We were all presented with
certificates that had our names on them…nice touch. Then we enjoyed a
wonderful dinner.
Day 5 June 16, 2007 (Saturday)
More shopping today as we visited the 1-Utama, The Curve and Ikano Power
Center…many items to look at today! Then back to get ready for an early
dinner and the Malaysia Mega Sales Launching ceremony. We got the chance to
meet people from all over the world at this party.
