Ecuador’s Flowering Plants—Blooming Beauty Beyond Belief
February 2-9th, 2008

February 8, Day 07: Guayaquil - Historical Park - Quito

After breakfast we enjoyed a city tour then it is off to the nearby nature park with lots of tropical animals to look at who live in the Mangrove forests in the surrounding area of Guayaquil. There was a group of children in the park when we were there…you could hear them screaming in the distance and only when we reached them did we see why…covered in mud and loving it. There is also a large agricultural part where we got to see how the “Hacienderos” and the small farmers lived. Guayaquil as a city that grew with the Cacao Commerce at the beginning of the last century.

We enjoyed a light lunch in a nearby restaurant and in the afternoon we flew back to Quito and to the Hotel Dann Carlton where we started the tour.
In the evening we enjoyed our “Farewell Dinner” at Mea Culpa.

February 9, Day 08: Departure
It was a wonderful tour, with so many memories…and I hope I have given you a taste of what is in store for you on the 2009 Ecuador Tour…believe me, it is not to be missed.
