China Tour 2013
April 10th – 23rd, 2013

April 21st The sun is shining this morning! The lake and gardens outside my window look so tranquil…and soon we will be leaving. After breakfast and a later departure we leave for Shanghai. We arrive and go directly to the Shanghai Museum. A world class museum of Chinese art and culture, the new Shanghai Museum has ten special galleries of bronze, calligraphy, ceramics, furniture, jade, minority art, paintings, sculpture, seal carvings, coins and arts and crafts. I had been here a couple of times before so this time spent time in the bronze area, ceramics and sculpture. This museum really does put China into perspective.

Then tea at the M on the Bund for an unforgettable view of the Bund…so clear today. Tea was lovely and I couldn’t help but take a photograph of the lovely tea cup and saucer. Afterwards we all went outside onto the terrace to see the view and take a group photo. From here we went to check into our hotel, the Renaissance Yuyuan Garden Hotel Shanghai and relax until it was time to leave for the Shanghai Acrobats. I had seen this show a few times and was pleasantly surprised that they have a new program. It was quite simply amazing! No photos allowed though….
