A
sister to the now famous Clematis 'Arabella'. Both cultivars were
raised by Barry and Pat Fretwell of Peveril Clematis Nursery. Devon,
England. A off-spring from an integrifolia cross in 2003,this hardy
semi-herbaceous, non-clinging, compact, shrubby perennial, will reach a
mature height of 5-6 ft.
The single rounded, deep blue-purple flowers are 3-3.5 inches wide and
contain four to eight non-overlapping tepals The stamens are white
filaments with deep blue-purple stamens.
This group 3 cultivar will bloom continuously from late Spring to late
Autumn. This cultivar is ideal as a companion planting to grow naturally
through Shrubs, Conifers and Roses. Zones 4-9 U.S.D.A..
