I would like to move one or two Monkshood to a more suitable location. They have already leafed out. Can I still move them?

Hi Trish, I have successfully move monkshood after they've leafed out. When I transplant anything I take a HUGE ammount of soil with it so I hardly disturb the roots at all. I find this works the best for me.

You're so lucky to already dealing with things like that...here it's snowing and I won't be planting/transplanting anything outdoors for at least another two months...about mid May. (Zone envy...)

Thanks - I went ahead and transplanted a few, then gave them a good drink of root booster.

Just to add to your Zone Envy - the evergreen Clematis is in full bloom, Bowles Mauve, Escallonia, Hebe Patty's Purple and even a few Shasta Daisies bloomed all winter! Sorry, apart from the Zone 8b I am also just across from the ocean which really makes a huge difference.

Grumble...grumble...flowers through the winter...my green thumb hasn't extended to house plants yet...lots of greenery...not much flowers...nope, the only flowers here in the winter are the ones that come from a florist (and a few forced bulbs.) I do have about 40 1 gallon pots on a table in my living room, and on my kitchen floor, getting an early start on some perenials though...so I am getting my green thumb warmed up for spring...you certainly didn't help my zone envy at all...Thanks... lol
