Hi,

I have been battling the Red Lilly Beetle since early spring. I remove the adult and swish it and now my lillies are covered with the larve. I have sprayed with End All but it appears to have no effect. Does anyone have any proven methods on controlling these insects?

Sorry, a correction to the above, I meant to say I squish not swish. LOL

Wayne....check this out on your computer....type in red lily beetle....I did and got some great articles on what to do....I've got the info stashed down in my garden shed at the moment but I think this beetle and how to eradicate it has evolved from when it first appeared and nobody seemed to know what to do about it..... Grrrrr I hate them - the nerve........ ruining my beloved lilies !!!

I have found that red lilly beetle is heavily prevalent here in VT. I recommend to people using a neem product or insecticidal soap with added diatoaceous earth around the plants dripline... This is a good combination weed killer.

Trouble is, you can go after the little darlings(and aren't they pretty !~ :) ) with all guns, but if your neighbours aren't doing the same, they're bound to come back, which means hours of attack, all summer, every year, on and on.... I honestly wonder if I will just have to give up on my gorgeous lilies...

Lilioceris lilii has invaded my garden in Miramichi in New Brunswick. Has anyone else seen them up this far North?

Will Alethrin kill them?
